Transforming Skylines with Steel

Steelwork construction has been a large part of urban development for a number of years. In the beginning steelwork was mainly only used for support in industrial buildings. However, many of the other buildings that could have benefited from steelwork were largely ignored. When engineers realized its potential for hotels and office buildings they began to see that they could use the steel to create larger, better buildings. This was the beginning of the transformation of the skyline as we know it today.

Hydraulic Engineering

If you’re thinking of specialising in one of the many sub-disciplines of civil engineering, you probably want to look at all of your options. One of those options is hydraulic engineering. This sub-discipline is focused on how fluids, mainly water, flow. As far as work goes, hydraulic engineers often find themselves working on channels, canals, dams, bridges, levees, and locks. They may also work side by side with municipal engineers in designing a city’s water system or work with environmental engineers on projects related to cleaning the water supply.

On Site Safety Equipment

When it comes to construction work, safety is one of the top concerns. This concern is not just held by those in the managerial area of construction, although they do certainly care about their employees’ safety and about keeping their company in compliance with safety regulations. The construction workers, too, are very concerned about safety, as are those who have hired the firm to build their building. This is why safety equipment on the work site is so incredibly important.
